Overnight hike kit list

An overnight hike involves self-sufficient camping, and usually occurs over one or more nights in different locations. It includes individual cooking on portable stoves.

Your hike pack when fully laden should not weigh any more than 20% of your body weight – this is important!

You should be able to carry all of your gear in just your hike pack.

Pack liner (Heavy duty garbage bag)
Water bottle (must have)
Hydration pack (optional)

Sleeping
Light weight tent – this can be a single tent, or share the carrying of a 2-3 man tent.
Light weight groundsheet
Sleeping mat (inflatable or roll-mat)
Sleeping bag (packed)
Inner sheet*

Cooking
Portable stove
Fuel to suit your stove
Matches
Billy – 1 to 1.5 litre
Water – Drinking / Cooking / Cleaning

Dilli bag containing:
